it's not a gift card, but...

I was a teacher. And two of my sisters are teachers. And my sister in law is a teacher. My heart has all the love for teachers.

Teachers deserve a million dollar Christmas bonus. They really do. But they don't usually get that. :) They do get lots of other gifts at Christmas though, which is super sweet. Not always practical, but really sweet. If you can, just give them cash or buy them a gift card. They'd love the most of all. The teachers in MY life haven't necessarily said that, probably because they don't want to sound ungrateful for what they get. But the reality is, sometimes we just waste our money when it's not something we KNOW they love, so cash or a gift card is probably the best.

But ya know, sometimes it's not a reality. And it would be embarrassing to give a gift card for like three bucks, but that's all you can do when you have classroom teachers and piano teachers and Sunday school teachers and secretaries and custodians and all the special people in you life that you want to give a gift to. :) and so, dear blog reader, I present to you a really cute teacher gift that's less than $3.

First, I went to the Dollar Tree to buy cute wrapping stuff. Got TWENTY bags for a buck, and some cute red stuff for a buck too. So that means 2 bucks to wrap 20 gifts, either now or later.

(Why yes, that is my thanksgiving table decor still set out for Christmas. And I love it.)

Add some of this AWESOME corn salsa that my friend Rachel introduced to me years ago (which costs $2.49 at Trader Joes) and you've got yourself an awesome gift for cheap! So you can make them for alllll the teachers without feeling like you're breaking the bank!

How cute is this:

Oh I guess I added the ribbon, so add a few more cents to the total. ;)

And notice the note in there. Have your kiddo (or you!) write a meaningful note, because every teacher will tell you that means more than the gift anyway.

As for the salsa, if they don't like it, I can ALMOST guarantee that their spouse or kids will, and if not, then you only wasted $2.50 and also THEY ARE CRAZY.

I love it, even though it's not a gift card. If you can get them a gift card, do it.

If not, then this is good. enough.
